Princess Castle Bed!

Mike and I lost our minds last week and decided to do a makeover on the girls bunk bed. We moved all the girls beds around the weekend before, and the little girls now had this twin over full bunk bed that looked rather plain. There is a fabulous website where a lady shows you how to make all your own furniture just like pottery barn, http://ana-white.com/, and she also makes it look so easy! There was a plan on there for how to make a princess bed, and we decided to try it. The problem is there weren't any plans for a bunk with a full on bottom, so Mike had to come up with one on his own. After we were done, the girls were in love with it, but we just looked at each other and thought it looks much simpler(and less expensive) than it actually was! Aunt Nikki took Courtney and Sunshine overnight so we could surprise them, and Sassy and Jo helped a ton with painting and sanding. Jo did all the decorative stone painting on the castle. It took two full days to complete, and we were exhausted and ornery when we were done :) Thankfully the girls were over the moon about it when they got to see it, and that helped to make it worth it!

Jon Schmidt Concert!

I just can't say enough what a wonderful concert this was! Jon Schmidt is a pianist, and he just doesn't do the normal piano concert. He performed with a solo singer named Dan Beck, and a fabulous cellist named Steve Nelson. It was so fun, unexpected and the perfect introductory concert experience for our older girls. Sassy wasn't too sure she wanted to go, but it totally changed her opinion, and a lot of her friends were there. Jon even did a back flip off the stage at the end of the concert!!!!! It was a great night out with just the older girls, we took them for chinese food before and Charlie's shakes afterwards. Thanks to gramps and grandma for taking the little girls, and all of us got to just enjoy ourselves! If Jon Schmidt comes to a town near you, GO!!! Even your husband will like it.

Susnhine's class pictures

Sunshine LOVES preschool! She couldn't go all last week because she had a really bad cold, and she cried every day. Her teacher is wonderful and so patient- "Teacher Barbara". It has been a great experience and she has learned so much.

Sassy and her friend got to have their pics done about a month ago and they had so much fun! Her friend's dad took the pics, and the girls picked their outfits and Sassy found the locations. The one of them together on the chair in the road with the mountains behind them is on the road by our house. Cute girls, I love when they get to have their pics done :)

Birthday Boy!

Yesterday was Mike's 35th birthday. He got a new grill, 3 dress shirts, the Prince of Persia DVD and a coupon for 1,000 free hugs from Courtney! He asked for his favorite strawberry coconut cake, which we all loved. We are so lucky to have him in our lives, he works so hard to take care of us and to not go crazy in this all girl household :)

Seussical the Musical!!!!

On Saturday we got to take Sunshine and Courtney to see Seussical the Musical, and we all had a great time! It was fun for the girls to get to go on a date with mom and dad all by themselves, and we had fun not having to wrangle with all 5 children! They had a little carnival beforehand that was cute and then we went to see the play. It was the first time we have taken them to something like that and they did great, sitting and watching the whole play and not even fidgeting or telling us they were bored. That is a really big feat for a 4 year old, and also for Courtney because she has so much energy! Afterwards we went and picked up a new mattress(hallelujah!) for us at Down East. It was a great afternoon :)
