New pics of the girls

We haven't got new pics of everybody in almost 2 years, so we got some new pics of the girls before this baby boy comes! Nikki took them on her new camera-isn't she awesome! We just took them in my mom's garden and around my parent's land, so it was pretty low key. But taking pics of 5 girls is never low stress-can't get them all to smile at the same time! Here are their ages-Sassy is 16, Jo is almost 13, Courtney is 9, Sunshine is 5, and Apple is 2. What cute kids, I love them all too much!

Cascade Springs

After the museum we went up to Cascade Springs and got to revisit the place where I fell in as a child when I slipped and fell off the boardwalk as I was running away from my mom and dad! After that we headed home, good and tired from our fun weekend vacation to Utah County:)

The Bean Museum at BYU

While we were in Provo, we stayed at Aunt Terri's and got to visit with Jamie and her kids who were up from Arizona. Apple and Sunshine especially loved the little child sized play house under Aunt Terri's stairs. Thursday we hiked Timp and Friday we got to spend an entire day at Seven Peaks Water Park, which was the highlight of the trip for the kids. Uncle Brent and Aunt Terri did a big BBQ for us after we went swimming and it was great to get to visit with them. Saturday we woke up to crepes made by Jamie and they were fabulous and such a treat! Then we got to hear about Uncle Brent and Aunt Terri's work with Mothers Without Borders at the orphanage in Zambia, and see their pics, which were so moving. We went up to the Bean Museum around lunchtime, and the kids loved it and so did we because it is free! We also got to see a reptile show there and the kids got to touch a turtle, lizard, and snake. The top pics is Gpa Holmstead laying down while we wait for the reptile show, I guess we really wore him out! And the bottom is Mike Lauren and Gpa tring to get the triplet stroller into the Museum!

Last weekend we got to hike up to the Mt. Timpanogos Cave in American Fork Canyon. The trail is 1.5 miles each way and really steep, so Apple and I had fun feeding the fish at Cabela's and the grocery store while we waited for the group to get back. It takes about 3 hours, including the tour of the cave. The temperature on the hike up was close to 100 degrees! but the cave was only about 40 degrees so we had to bring jackets for inside the cave. Grandpa Hap was a guide at the caves when he was young, so it was neat to get to go back and see what he used to do. The girls did great with very little complaining! Doesn't the door out of the cave look like something out of Lord of the Rings?
