We carved our pumpkins last night and had a great time seeing all the creative things the kids came up with! Sassy's is her school colors, Belle's is a self portrait, Courtney's was a CTR, Sunshine had a painted/jack o lantern mess, and Apple's is a MRS Potato Head princess. We woke up this morning to a couple inches of snow which the kids loved! Apple loves her baby doll it has been her favorite toy, and she has been toddling around the house. She can take about 5 steps by herself, and turned 11 months on the 24th.

These ones were Mike's favorite!

These are some more pics of the kids at the Pumpkin Walk. They had these picture boards set up as you wait to go into the walk, and the kids had a blast taking their pictures!

The Pumpkin Walk

We got to go to the annual Pumpkin Walk here with Grandma and Grandpa on Friday night. It is so neat to see all the pumpkins scenes they have created and all the jack o lanterns. It is held at a big park and the admission is free, so if the weather isn't too cold we love to go every year. My favorite was the "Thriller" scene, complete with the music! Sunshine was excited because this year we got to ride the shuttle bus, and she had never ridden on a bus before.

Riding the Big Hog with Aunt Erin

Jeff and Erin brought their scooter over on Thursday and gave rides to Courtney and Sunshine. They had a blast! We are loving living close to family again :)

A Backyard Weenie Roast

Friday night two of our friend's girls were coming over for a sleepover with our girls and we threw together a last minute Weenie Roast for our two families. We had a great time, notwithstanding the challenges involved in trying to roast hot dogs in the dark. We have a fire pit out in the pasture and we really got to take advantage of the beautiful weather we've been having with this dinner.

Musicmakers and the Halloweeny Roast!

WE had so much fun today! Every Thursdays a group of moms here does a little musicmakers class where the kids sing, do puppets, read books, dance, and do rhythm activities. Sunshine loves it! After class today we got to go to the Halloweeny Roast, a cute little Halloween carnival type activity that a retired couple does for free here. They turn their pasture completely "Halloweeny", with wagon and hay rides and all sorts of cute stuff. The kids had a blast and the weather was beautiful!

Sassy

Sassy got to go get these pics taken with her cousin a couple weeks ago. It seems like just yesterday she was toddling around the house...

Enrichment at my old ward!

Tonight I got to go to Enrichment at our old ward, and it was so much fun to see all my friends and catch up with everyone! They are such a great ward, and it was fun to be back with them. We made these awesome 12 x 12 tiles for each month, this is the October one.

Sunday night cookies with Grandpa

One of my best memories from childhood is my dad making cookies on Sunday afternoon. They were always Oatmeal Raisin, and always delicious! I got to relive some of my childhood on Sunday, thanks to Sassy's craving something sweet. Grandpa decided to make Oatmeal Raisin cookies for her(with half being Oatmeal Chocolate chip since she doesn't like raisins or anything healthy!) Sunshine was his happy helper, and every time he would go into the family room she would say, "You are supposed to be by your Gwand chwild!" She had a blast and we all had a great time hanging out with family. Eric, Melissa and Wyatt stopped by too so we just had a party!

Children's Book Reviews

I found a great new website that was advertised in the Mormon Times that reviews youth and young adult literature. www.theliteratemother.org rates books for violence, language and sexuality. Every time I took the girls to the library, I wished I could find a website like this one for the books they wanted to check out. The teenage section has such a wide variety of books, ranging from very explicit to child-safe, so you never knew what was in the books they checked out if you didn't read them first. This website is similar to www.kidsinmind.com which is for movie reviews. I love that website because now I don't have to sit through teeny bopper movies that Sassy wants to see! I just check them out on their website to see if they are appropriate for her.

Drama Anyone?

Has anyone heard of the fainting goats? They have a hysterical video of them on you tube, where they run around and if they get scared they just faint and fall right over. We were cracking up about it, until we now have our own fainting goat named Apple Dumplin! A few weeks ago she hit her head on the piano leg and started crying, then just fell right onto my shoulder. I thought she knocked herself out, but the next day Mike put her down on the floor and she cried so hard she did it again! We had a few weeks of nothing and then Sunshine bumped Apple's head and she cried and then fainted! I was really worried at first but then I found out that alot of babies do this and outgrow it as they get older. I thought after 5 kids I'd seen everything, but I guess not :) We'll still take Apple though, she is such a little ray of sunshine in our lives and brings all of us so much happiness with her little chubby self.
