Crazy Cooking Night

Mike had the boys in his Young Men's group over last night to give them a cooking lesson. They made a cake for strawberry shortcake, learned to brown ground beef and then made spagetti, tacos, and fancy mac n cheese, and then each grilled steaks. It was a ton of food! They had a great time and actually ate most of the food they cooked. Apple sat at the counter and just watched them, she had a blast, too!

Emergency Quilt a Thon!

Because of all the natural disasters lately, the church's Humanitarian Center was completely out of quilts! Church Headquarters called our Stake President and asked if we could send quilts because we are one of the highest quilt producers in the church, and so our stake humanitarian leader organized a 2 day Quilt a Thon. My mom, Jo, Sassy and her friend and I went yesterday afternoon. They had a fabulous turnout, and the girls Young Women's group is taking all the girls there to help quilt tonight too. It was great to feel like we were able to do something to help all the people affected by disasters that we have been seeing on the tv lately, and we all left feeling happy :)

A special st pat's day!

We had a special St. Pat's day yesterday, and it wasn't because the leprechauns dyed our toilets green and left us green milk and Lucky Charms cereal. Mike and I have been working on his dad's geneology for about a year and have had some luck, but reached a big dead end. Well, we decided to go ahead and do the temple work for the names we had, which were 8 men and 4 women and yesterday Mike and Sassy and Jo got to go do the baptisms for them. It is the first work done in his family ever, and it was so nice to finally be doing something! It was especially neat since his family was from Ireland!

A day at the University

Jo got chosen from her school to go to the Young Writers and Artists Day at the university, which was today! She had so much fun, and got to read her essay, "Let Your Imagination Fly". They provided lunch for the kids and her cousin Adrie got to go too. We are so proud of her!

A walk in the sunshine!

It was finally sunny and blue skies today after weeks of too much snow! So the little girls and I headed outside for a nice hour walk. The girls are wearing their little matching hats daddy bought them, and were so excited to be outside! We even ended up taking off our sweatshirts because it was so warm. We saw baby cows, birds, and even deer! Our little doggie Toky even loved the outing :)

A Night with the Aggies

A few weeks ago Mike took the three oldest girls to their first Aggie basketball game. They had a blast! That is Courtney in the top pic with Big Blue, the mascot. The pics are fuzzy, but the only ones we had!

An udated pic of the triplets!

Here is Melissa holding all three of the babies! Aren't they too cute?!!!

New Hair

While I went to see Melissa in the hospital with Sassy and Jo, Mike took the little girls to get their hair cut. They loved it, and all got short little A-line cuts (even Apple)! I love it, it is so easy to do their hair now, I wish I would have done this years ago. And it has also cut down on all the tangles Apple gets in the back of her hair from her little curls!

Sandwich Makers

In the last few weeks, I have caught some little hungry people making their own little sandwiches, and it is so cute! Sunshine made herself a yummy ham sandwich, and Apple sat up to the counter saying," I make me a peanut butter sandwich!". She even got out a little baby spoon to spread it with! I love independent kids!

They are here!!!!

The triplets are finally here! They were born on Feb. 25, 2011 to Eric and Melissa, 2 boys and 1 girl! Ava- 3lbs. 11 oz(top pic), Ryder- 3lbs. 7 oz(bottom pic), and Ethan- 3lbs. 3 oz(middle pic). They were born at 31 weeks and are doing great! They are already off all IV's and ventilators, they just have their feeding tubes in now. Ava and Ethan have dark hair, and Ryder is blond. They are too cute and we are so happy to have them in our family!
