Mike convinced me to lt him give raising pigs a try, because the price of pork is supposed to go really high....we will see if it is worth it! He rigged up a pen for them in our barn, and got two pigs from a client of his. The pink one is named Bacon Bleu, and the black and white one is Fatboy. The little girls love them and were almost as excited as dad to get them! The first day we got them Mike tried to put a harness on them to take them for a walk and they screamed like stuck pigs! You could hear them over 1/2 mile away, it was the most horrible thing I have ever heard! You would have thought Mike was torturing them instead of trying to pet them and take them for a walk! They are getting more used to us now though. They weigh about 40 pounds and we will keep them until they reach about 260 lbs., which should take about 5 months. The pic of Emma holding a black thing is her with one of our chickens, they have gotten so big!
